ABOUT US
Launched in November 2010, Enter The Group is a platform for people to manage their work, classes and life in general. We are a web based service which uses technology and project management to enhance the way we work and interact. Our headquarters are in Winnipeg, Canada.
We believe that technology is changing the way we live, including how we learn and work. We want to enable groups of all types to manage their projects online. This means providing them with the right tools and advice. The vision for the website is to create a space where users can meet online, collaborate and communicate, all the while learning the skills of project management. Our company philosophy is basically to make our users' lives easier by increasing their productivity and interaction.
Enter The Group's Origins
The company was created by Sal Pellettieri. The idea originated after his many struggles with group projects in university both as a student and then later in life as an instructor. He found that many students hated group projects because of all the extra work involved, plus there were added problems dealing with different personalities and finally because it was difficult to get everyone organized.
Sal saw a definite need for a site which enabled people to manage their work. By combining project management methods and the appropriate tools, Enter The Group was born. The site was originally going to be focused just on group projects, but later a Classrooms application was added. There are many similarities to a project and a classroom in the sense that both need a shared calendar, online communication, file sharing etc. Creating classrooms on Enter the Group is a way to enable better organization for students and teachers. It also allows the class to continue the learning, debating and sharing.
Our Founder
Sal Pellettieri is the creator and CEO of Enter The Group, THE site for managing projects and classrooms. He studied Economics at the University of Winnipeg then won a scholarship to pursue a Masters degree in International Finance at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. He later obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Sal has worked for many years in asset management and most recently was a hedge fund manager for a Los Angeles firm where he ran a $500 million dollar US equity fund. Sal decided to pursue a new challenge in life when he created Enter The Group in 2010. His love of technology, plus a life-long passion for learning were the motivating factors in his decision. When he's not developing the site he can be found trading stocks, playing soccer, volunteering and most recently helping his wife take care of their newborn son.
